About The Opportunity
As a Technical Officer joining our Infrastructure Planning team, you will assist and support the development of a mature capital works program for Council's road, active transport, and stormwater networks in accordance with Council strategies and asset management principles.
About You
- Detailed knowledge and experience in developing and implementing capital works, specifically in transport and drainage related infrastructure. This includes assisting in the investigation, coordination, and development of projects suitable to meet budgetary approval process.
- Sound knowledge of asset management principles applicable to roads, drainage and active transport infrastructure.
- Excellent skills in written and oral communication with a strong focus on customer service and teamwork.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to meet both personal, work and organisational deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with a wide variety of people including all levels of Council staff, Councillors, government representatives, consultants, contractors and the community.
- Possession of a current 'C' Class Open Driver's License.
- Well-developed report writing skills, high level problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to interact and work in a team environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in an engineering discipline (desired)
- High level of knowledge and experience in using computers and computer software packages for Infrastructure Planning (desired)
