Inner West Melbourne - Disability Support Worker

Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated care and support to adults with intellectual disabilities and complex behavioural needs.
• Foster capacity building and empower participants to lead fulfilling lives.
• Implement individualised support plans, ensuring personalised care is delivered.
• Promote independence, inclusion, and social participation within the community.
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience and understanding of intellectual disabilities and complex behavioural needs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport.
• Empathy, patience, and a compassionate approach towards supporting individuals.
• Flexibility to work on a casual basis, including shifts on weekdays, weekends, and evenings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication. 

The following checks and licenses are mandatory and certified copies will be required before an offer of employment.

• Australian-issued driver's license.
• Unrestricted working rights
• Certificate III or above in Disability Support or a related field.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Working with Children Check.
• NDIS Worker Check.
• Willingness to undergo a National Criminal History Check.
• Evidence of vaccination or exemption from vaccination against COVID-19
• Two professional references from a current and former supervisor.
