In this role you will be an integral part of how we deliver for our small business customers, facilitating their growth and nurturing the companies that are the backbone of our eCommerce landscape. As their Account Manager you will be a part of their success and you will drive for results that will have a direct impact on Australia Post’s future.
About the role
Working within a team of Inside Sales representatives, your role will be to establish and manage customer relationships with a portfolio of small business customers. You will manage the accounts mainly over the phone and over video calls.
You will undertake telephone based sales activity, identifying, qualifying and closing opportunities for growth and new business across your portfolio of accounts. As the Account Manager you will be responsible for protecting and growing revenue and orders within accounts via renewing contracts, extending services and supporting account growth.
You will collaborate across the business and with multiple sales teams to ensure that you reach your sales goals.
As an Inside Sales Account Manager / Business Account Manager, you will report to a small business Inside Sales manager and have end to end ownership of around 100-160 accounts that are classified as ‘small business’. Within this high growth area there are a high number of eCommerce businesses to whom you will become a trusted advisor.
You will:
- Retain revenue and orders through renewing contracts & negotiating commercial terms.
- Retain customers through ensuring they are delighted with the Australia Post service.
- Engaging with your customers through the full lifecycle of their contract, including renewal, price reviews and reviewing surcharge compliance.
- Growing the revenue of the portfolio through expanding existing contracts and identifying opportunities for new products & services.
- Develop new business, identifying, qualifying and closing sales opportunities across existing and new customers.
- Act as liaison between our customers and internal teams to ensure that our services are delivered in line with customer expectations.
About you:

You will be able to build trusting and long term relationships with clients at all levels and be seen as a trusted advisor by your clients. You will have a track record of identifying commercial opportunities and have a relentless & tenacious attitude.
You’ll need
- Experience selling freight solutions at various levels of organisations.
- Experience identifying, qualifying, proposing and closing sales opportunities.
- A track record of exceeding sales targets and demonstrated business acumen.
- Experience negotiating sales deals with a complex solution, product and service range.
- Excellent time management skills and an ability to balance competing priorities with a commercial focus.
