About the opportunity
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Insurance and Risk Lead will take ownership of designing and implementing an organisation-wide risk management process and proactively manage CAM’s insurance portfolio. This includes tracking and reporting of portfolio performance and management of the annual renewal process, review of policy options, coordination of tenders and oversight of property and Risk surveys.
This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a hybrid model of work (3 days per week in the office and you choose work-from-home or in-office for the balance), career development and a supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement an organisation-wide risk management process.
- Proactively manage CAM’s Insurance Portfolio, including tracking and reporting of portfolio performance and management of the annual renewal process; review of policy options, coordination of tenders and oversight of property and Risk surveys.
- Engage effectively with stakeholders and brokers to produce optimum outcomes.
- Coach and mentor internal stakeholders in relation to Insurance and Risk matters; mitigate insurable and uninsurable risks by providing advice and tailored training.
- Provide direction and advice to CAM Parishes on all aspects of insurance matters, including development of an insurance strategy to optimise value.
- Maintain internal Insurance and Risk policies and procedures and accurate records of claims.
- Analyse and interpret claims data to produce regular reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Complete monthly accruals for insurance costs and reconcile insurance premium provision accounts.
About you
You will be degree qualified in Risk Management or a related field, with strong experience in a continuous improvement environment and looking to make this role your own.
What will ensure your success:
- Relevant qualifications in Risk Management or a related field.
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
- High level of attention to detail, quality and accuracy. This includes the ability to analyse, investigate and make recommendations for improvement.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
