The Company
OCS Building Maintenance t/as Midcity Group has provided expert building repairs on residential and commercial properties to the insurance industry for over 35 years in Western Australia. We expanded into NSW in 2019 and more recently into VIC in 2023 and now QLD.
Midcity Group specialises in providing reporting and investigation services to assist our clients in determining the extent of their liability on an insurance claim. Our business operates within strict KPI measurements to meet client expectations and is supported by a sophisticated job management system.
The Role
Our Building Estimators are required to possess a high level of skill in trade and building management, report writing and customer service skills.
We are seeking 2 dynamic individuals who come with suitable building experience to join our VIC Team to support out South East Melbourne & North West Melbourne regions.
This opportunity involves inspecting property damage, preparing quotations and reports to a high standard within KPI measurements.
The successful candidate will be working closely with our clients, customers, suppliers and sub-contractors alike to ensure a positive and quality outcome on each job.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Assess various types of building damage with a keen eye for detail.
- Attend site, prepare and provide an accurate estimate to reinstate works, for both minor and major building losses;
- Compile detailed causation reports and Scope of Works as required;
- Interpretation of Scope of Works provided by Engineers and Consultants;
- Good understanding of building and construction concepts.
- Build strong relationships and open communication channels with all stakeholders
- Ensure estimated work conforms to legislative and OH&S criteria;
Key Selection Criteria
- Positive and confident attitude with high focus on customer service
- Competent computer skills across mobile devices, repair management systems and an ability to rapidly learn new systems
- Courteous, respectful and empathetic
- Able to perform within strict KPI guidelines with a sense of urgency
- Qualified in Construction or Trade Certification;
- Excellent costing and quotation expertise supported by strong computer skills;
- Outstanding organisation and time management skills
- Commitment to and be familiar with OHS legislation and regulations;
- Valid motor vehicle license.
