Zaleta, is dedicated to quality and aesthetic excellence, we are looking for a talented and dedicated Interior Designer to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis starting at two/three days a week with room for future expansion of the role. This position demands a creative individual who has a passion for both interior and exterior design, bringing spaces to life with innovative and functional designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and curate interiors and exteriors for a range of custom projects, ensuring each space is both beautiful and practical.
- Produce cabinetry drawings/sketches that meet the functional and aesthetic needs of the project.
- Collaborate with clients and team members to determine design preferences, requirements, and project specifics.
- Select and propose suitable finishes for various surfaces and furnishings, aligning with project themes and durability requirements.
- Continuously update skills in design software and techniques, particularly SketchUp, with opportunities for in-house training.
- Research new and innovative products and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to stay informed about the latest additions to product lines.
- Work closely with Zaleta’s client concierge to ensure a seamless supportive journey for clients throughout the design and implementation process.
- Maintain the Design Pantry, ensuring it is stocked with up-to-date samples of all products to assist in design presentations and decision-making processes.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in interior and exterior design, with a portfolio that demonstrates expertise in full space curation.
- Ability to sketch cabinetry drawings for draftsperson and cabinet maker, a solid understanding of construction detailing.
- Proficient in SketchUp or a strong willingness to learn and master the program (Program provided in-house).
- Excellent sense of aesthetics and functionality in choosing finishes and furnishings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective client consultations and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications preferred but not essential, experience values over education.
- Degree in Interior Design or a related field.
- Experience in a building or design firm.
