Intermediate Accountant

Job Description 

We are a well established and growing practice based in Ipswich, Qld. Our client base ranges from farming and primary production clients, to small and medium sized businesses. 

Our firm offers accounting and tax compliance services, along with business advisory and non-for-profit auditing. We offer an upbeat work environment with flexibility in work hours. 

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Preparation of Financial Statements, Tax Returns and BAS for all entities (Companies, Trusts, SMSFs, Partnerships, Sole Traders and Individuals
• Experience in carrying out Non For Profit Auditing (desirable)
• Ability to provide day-to-day business and taxation advice
• Preparing effective tax structures and delivering effective tax minimisation strategies 
• Liaising with various statutory authorities on behalf of clients
• Providing training and support to junior staff as required 
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Work directly with senior staff 
• Ability to manage a portfolio of clients and prioritise effectively 

Qualifications & Experience

Education: 

• Bachelor Degree required

Experience: 

• 3+ years experience in public practice 
• Experience with Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and Class Super
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Positive, enthusiastic and professional attitude

Certification: 

• CA/CPA (preferred), or willingness to work toward qualification
