Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Inventory Controller will be responsible for all inventory across 3 locations. This role will also provide the SCM with regular reporting and analytics to support strategic decision making and cost management initiatives.
Furthermore, this role involves physical counting, Oracle system transactions, regular reporting (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual). In addition to this, the role is heavily focused on utilising KPI’s to demonstrate effectiveness and to support decision making. The role is site based and is a blend of desk based work and physical stock counting. Two of the SodaStream sites are based a short distance from each other (Same Suburb/Estate) and the 3PL location is a short drive away.
This role also involves managing the 3PL Warehouse for overflow storage and ad-hoc weekly activity, to ensure we meet any customer or sales requests in full and on time.
You will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- As the Inventory Controller of SodaStream Australia your main responsibility will be stock accuracy, product integrity, warehouse optimization and KPI reporting managing the flow of inventory across all our sites.
- Collect and analyse data to determine appropriate order quantities and monitor inventory of consumable items.
- Assist the Supply Chain Manager with any additional administrative tasks as required.
- Develop the company’s inventory management strategy with the aim of controlling costs and maximizing available working capital.
- Manage and maintain the company’s material and stocked product inventory including stock profiles and stock locations.
- Manage and control perpetual inventory stock counting / inventory accuracy checks .
- Minimise overstocks and removal of obsolete / redundant raw materials (SLOB).
- Ensure that goods inward / stock control department is well organised and controlled to sufficiently support production and the goals of the business.
- Ensure incoming product is receipted and managed appropriately according to company procedures.
- Ensure materials are ready and available for production as and when required.
- Own relationship and inventory management with third party stock holding facilities and suppliers.
- Provide routine management information on inventory performance.
- Monitor and evaluate consumables usage & costs, Monitor & evaluate material utilization and scrap.
- Implement improvement systems and procedures for inventory optimization and stock velocity.
- Develop and maintain procedures for all main inventory control functions.
- Be responsible for managing and running planned stock takes (including annual stock take).
- Perform cycle count stock checks and email reports weekly to Finance with explanation for any discrepancies. Hold relevant areas accountable for any stock discrepancies.
- Ensure stock is available in the correct locations for customer order fulfilment.
- Produce daily reports to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are controlled and any discrepancies addressed and resolved.
- Complete regular reporting to the SCM, and relevant key stakeholders. This includes stock level updates, KPI’s and other value-added reporting.

- A relevant professional qualification and/or suitable background experience in inventory management, 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Understanding of workplace OH&S responsibilities
- Advanced skills MS Office applications - outlook, excel & word
- Previous KPI environment workplace exposure
- Experience in continuous improvement and following lean management standard work practices.
- Oracle 11 ERP experience with use of relevant inventory modules
