Inventory Officer

THE ROLE

Our Creature Technology Co. (CTC) Inventory Officer is responsible for organised, efficient, and high-quality coordination of incoming deliveries, management of stock located within the building & workshop. It entails assisting the Purchasing department in the on-time availability of parts for CTC projects and working with the Safety and Facilities Manager to keep the inventory and storage in the workshop efficient and neat.  

DUTIES

Core Duties:

• Manage receival of incoming goods, including answering delivery door, unloading & unpacking deliveries 
• Checking and organising delivered items, including assigning stock to projects, palletising goods for storage in the workshop and preparing parts-kits
• Liaising with relevant departments regarding stock arrivals, delivery updates and stock numbers
• Monitoring KANBAN system of selected consumables and triggering the replenishment of low stock items
• Assisting to maintain relevant Quality Assurance (QA) & Quality Control (QC) paperwork for incoming goods. 
• Following up suppliers on in-process orders and updating task management software
• Assisting Purchasing Manager with updating stock records, preparation & placement of Purchase orders, where required 
• Organising Couriers for the dispatch of items, and collecting local supplies in the Company vehicle, as needed. 
• Liaise and coordinate with Safety and Facilities manager and other heads of department to ensure inventory within the workshop is stored efficiently and neatly
• Take active responsibility for own Occupational Health & Safety and assist to maintain a safe and healthy workplace at CTC more broadly
• Comply with Creature Technology’s policies and procedures and with relevant legislation and regulations
• Other duties as directed – there is an expectation that CTC employees in this position will be able to perform reasonable tasks beyond this role when required

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

1. Approx. 3 years’ experience in managing stock and parts in a workshop environment
2. Practical understanding of parts management in a manufacturing environment
3. Competent computer and MS Office software skills, including familiarity with inventory or ERP systems
4. Strong organisational, problem solving and time management skills, as well as great attention to detail
5. Ability to work under minimal supervision either as an individual or part of a team
6. Flexibility to adapt to evolving work demands and schedules
7. Great communication skills including the ability to interpret instructions and procedures
8. Some familiarity with engineering drawings and prior workshop practice experience will be considered advantageous. 

QUALIFICATIONS & LICENSES

• Current manual driver’s license
• Current Forklift License is required

OTHER INFORMATION

• The position reports to the Purchasing Manager
• The position is based at Creature Technology Company at 461 Plummer St, Port Melbourne, Victoria 3207, Australia
• The expectation is that the Inventory Officer will typically work 7.30am – 4.00pm, Monday through Friday, with a degree of flexibility required.
