IT Application Support Specialist – Docklands VIC

The Smart Mobility Solutions division helps road authorities, councils, schools, law enforcement agencies and private organisations with state-of-the-art technologies and services to make our roads and our communities safer.

The IT Application Support Specialist role is a critical support role, based in Docklands Melbourne.

 Key responsibilities include:

  • Business analysis and documentation of business processes
  • Develop process documentation and training materials and guides to support the use of technology
  • Application implementation, test, and commissioning activities
  • Software testing and release management
  • Provide 1st and 2nd Level functional and technical application support to users of Jenoptik proprietary IT applications
  • Troubleshooting and resolving user, application, and database issues 
  • Accurate and timely maintenance of service tickets
  • Apply governance processes and standards about all work performed to resolve incidents, manage problems, and implement changes
  • Provide training and advice in key application functionality to users 
  • Champion IT application support process improvements

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in IT/Computing/Computer Science
  • 2+ years of proven experience working as L2 support in service desk environments where documenting, monitoring, and resolving issues in a timely manner is important
  • Experience providing application, web, database, and server support
  • Strong attention to detail and advanced problem-solving skills, ability to diagnose technical problems and develop solutions for them
  • Software development fundamentals, coding, debugging, testing & documentation
  • Understanding of cloud platforms and services such as Azure and Microsoft Office 365
  • Experience supporting applications delivered as SaaS
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to self-manage and multi-task in a busy environment
  • Some interstate (WA) travel may be required

 Other desirable attributes include:

  • Experience in documentation creation such as Test Plans and Disaster Recovery Plans
  • Business analysis and documentation of business processes
  • Experience supporting IT applications for government customers
  • Experience using ITSM support tool ConnectWise, especially the Service, Configuration and Project modules
  • ITIL foundation certification
