We create city-sized solutions—building and operating safer, smarter, and more sustainable roads—to solve pressing transport challenges that are slowing cities down.About the roleWe’re seeking an Application Support Specialist to provide operational support to Transurban’s core Tolling system, a critical element of the business that enables roadside transactions to be constructed into trips. which are then rated and allocated to an account for billing.The Applications Support Analyst’s role is to maximise the operational availability and integrity of Transurban’s critical system applications (GLIDE & Oracle) with minimal risk, whilst delivering to agreed schedules and IT Operations Service Level Agreements. The role includes Incident & Problem management, performing Service Requests and Production related Changes. Ensuring we maintain high service standards across our existing applications is paramount, including contributing to continuous improvement ideas and actions within the team and stakeholders.As our Application Support Specialist, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging, and exciting work.This is a 12-month contract role, based in Melbourne CBDDay-to-day, you will:
- Perform 24/7 on call duties on a rostered basis and perform after hours work as required.
- Proactively monitor billing system and perform daily/periodical health checks.
- Action application service requests at a Level 1 & 2 level, in accordance with SLA guidelines to meet key department objectives.
- Log service requests in the IT Service desk system and ensure they are maintained with accurate, complete and up to date information.
- Ensure customers are kept informed of the status of their requests.
- Contribute in the continuing development of IT Operations processes, procedures, standards and methodologies
- Experience in applications support of mission critical systems (Oracle Fusion suite desirable) preferred.
- Skills using scheduling tools such as Jenkins, CA Workload Automation.
- Technical support experience in Linux/UNIX, client/serve and networking environments with proficiency in the use of related diagnostic tools.
- Experience in monitoring tools such as Splunk, Oracle Enterprise monitoring.
- Knowledgeable in AWS Services
- Exposure to Oracle RDBMS and Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience analysing & documenting application configurations and operational processes.
- Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and its application in the Oracle product suite is desirable.
- Able to handle the challenges of a varied role in a dynamic organisation.
