You will be working for a Melbourne based organisation who have a large procurement function that are currently in the process of going through a period of change and transformation.
The Opportunity
This organisation is currently facing a backlog of tenders and contracts that needs to be addressed through the addition of a contractor for a period of at least 6 Months. Working as an IT Category Manager you will work closely with the Procurement Manager to manage this backlog through strategic sourcing and tendering, addressing contract extensions and renewals, as well as supporting the wider procurement function with any support.
Skills and Experience Required
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in IT procurement as this role will require someone that can take on this project relatively autonomously. You will be responsible for a high volume of tenders, software contract renewals and extensions, as well as supporting the Procurement Manager who will be delivering high value and high risk tenders. Experience from any ASX or Blue-Chip organisations would be beneficial however it is not mandatory for this role, what would be ideal is strong tenure in commercial IT Procurement.
