The IT Infrastructure Specialist (based from Sydney or Ballarat) is responsible for ensuring the efficient and secure operation of our organization's IT environment. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including user account and access management, email and document management, network oversight, backup and disaster recovery, system support and performance monitoring, security and compliance management, infrastructure and cloud administration, policy enforcement and training, procurement, reporting, and physical security and communication systems maintenance. The IT Infrastructure Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining a reliable IT ecosystem that supports the organization's goals and objectives.
User Account and Access Management
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups for Microsoft Office365/Azure AD and email security.
- Administer new domain integration.
Email Management
- Configure security policies, Archive Search, email tracking & release, and add new business units/domains for Mimecast and Exchange Online.
SharePoint and Document Management
- Administer SharePoint Online including permissions, site libraries, and document libraries.
- Restore files as needed for data recovery.
Network Management
- Oversee LAN, WiFi, WAN, and SDWAN networks through local tools & 3rd parties.
Backup and Disaster Recovery
- Ensure consistent backups across all critical systems.
- Test, log, and maintain Disaster Recovery Procedures.
System Support and Performance Monitoring
- Provide end-user IT Support for all staff, including remote and on-site support.
- Support via scripting (Powershell) and RMM Tool.
- Monitor all systems for performance issues via RMM (NinjaOne) and remediating as needed.
- After-hours maintenance of systems (patching, etc.).
- Server maintenance, management and patching.
Security and Compliance
- Manage endpoint security for Windows Desktops & Laptops.
- Oversee Windows & 3rd Party Patching
- Azure security, policies and alerts.
Infrastructure and Cloud Management
- VMWare Administration & networking, including server commissioning and decommissioning.
- Domain management, including updating A/MX/CNAME Records.
- DNS & DHCP Management.
Policy Enforcement and Training
- Maintain Company IT Policies and ensure they are enforced.
- Provide company-wide IT Training and Phishing Simulations
Procurement and Vendor Management
- Purchasing of new hardware and software as required/approved.
- Configuring hardware (desktops/laptops) to company specs.
- Approving IT Invoices and contracts.
- Tendering for new IT contracts (telco, mobile, ISP etc)
Reporting and Communication
- Monthly and audit/IT Risk reporting to senior management & stakeholders.
- Quarterly CIO Forum reports and meetings.
- Plan and test any future IT system or application.
Physical Security and Communication Systems
- Maintenance and project planning for physical security (CCTV, Alarm systems).

- Add, moves, changes
EFTPOS (Electronic Funds Transfer at Point of Sale)

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or equivalent.
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure management and support.
- Strong knowledge of IT security and compliance standards.
- Experience in project management and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Powershell) and remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools.
