About the role
Our Information Technology Services Branch is looking for an experienced and competent permanent IT Security and Network Administrator who is a pro-active thinker with strongly developed interpersonal skills.
The focus of this role will be to maintain and support IT security technologies to provide effective networks and IT security systems to all users by, undertaking administration functions on Council ICT equipment and services (including cloud and hosted), undertaking IT security solution administration to ensure and provide quality customer service to all users.
This position will also be instrumental in ensuring the policies, procedures and standards across Council are implemented correctly and allow for seamless IT services.
What we are looking for:
- A relevant tertiary qualification and/or IT certifications would be highly regarded (e.g., Security+, CEH. CISM, CISSP, PCNSE, CCNA, CCNP, ITIL etc.)
- You have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to communicate and translate technical information to stakeholders at all levels.
- You can bring strength and support to your team but can also work with a degree of autonomy.
- Relevant experience and knowledge of IT Security and Network systems (firewalls, routers, switches, endpoint protection, mail and internet filtering, etc.)
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of Microsoft systems including associated security issues and security solutions including configuration, maintenance, deployment and fault resolution.
- Demonstrated strong problem solving, analytical skills and strategic thinking capability.
- You can confidently establish, document and maintain physical and electronic records, creation and delivery of documentation, presentations and reports.
Minimum requirements:
- Demonstrated relevant experience with Next Generation Firewalls (Palo Alto, Check Point, FortiGate, etc)
- C Class drivers licence
- Ability to be available to work as part of an on call roster.
- Ability to successfully pass all background related checks including a police check
