- Ras Laffan Petrochemicals (RLP) Project is seeking an IT Specialist for a project located in Qatar.
- The successful applicant will provide project management, technical and functional subject matter expertise in developing a logistics system to manage a new Container Terminal for Laffan Container Terminal (LCT).
- Ras Laffan Petrochemicals Project is building a 2080 kta ethylene cracker and a 1680 kta polyethylene unit in Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC) in the North end of Qatar.
- Part of the project is to finish the Laffan Container Terminal with necessary equipment, buildings, and assets to move the polyethylene from RLIC, which amounts to 200+ containers/day.
- LCT will be built by Ras Laffan Petrochemicals Project for the eventual ownership and operations RLIC port team.
- This role will lead in the development and implementation of a new logistics management system that is integrated into existing IT network, with necessary interfaces to support operations, and meets the requirements of the final owner, RLIC.
- Responsible for the development of requirements, specifications, and business process flows as well as the oversight of detailed engineering, implementation, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and handover of LCT logistics terminal system implemented at Ras Laffan Industrial City that considers the following:
- Managing container movements in, out, and within Container Terminal
- Managing container moving equipment with Container Terminal including ship to shore cranes, rubber tired gantry cranes, reach stackers, and trucks
- Managing the berth and vessel loading and unloading
- Provides real time statistical and management reporting
- Interfaces with systems including SAP, Customs, shipping lines, etc.
- Responsible for recommending and implementing a logistics terminal system solution that could be on-prem or cloud-based
- Responsible for implementing logistics terminal system operations interfaces in LCT between multiple systems including the administration building control room, container handling equipment (ship to shore cranes, rubber tired gantry cranes, etc.), SAP, Customs, and shipping lines
- Works directly with RLP Project's EPC Contractor, Tecnimont, and their chosen solution provider(s), and technology and RLIC port team stakeholders on requirements gathering, functionality design, development, deployment, and commissioning
- Interfaces with financial systems, maintenance management systems, human resource planning systems, RLIC's security/customs systems, shipping lines, customers of shipping, etc.
- Supports and ensures LCT is operationally ready by overseeing the preparation of training materials and documentation for Terminal Operating system application
- Provides overall RLP-wide support, consultation, and positive interaction when requested for applications outside of LCT's Terminal Operating system
- Bachelor's Degree
- 10+ years' hands-on experience with development and commissioning software systems
- Experience in all phases of systems implementation, including analysis/design, blueprinting, configuration, interfaces, documentation, testing, training, and support
- Experience in both on-prem and web-based system deployments
- Strong understanding of business process flows, systems analysis, and systems integration
- Demonstrated technical aptitude and ability to investigate in detail, diagnose, and solve complex problems
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex topics in a concise manner (oral/written) to many different audiences, including customers, peers, and leadership
- Practical project management skills and experience
- Ability to cooperate and work effectively in a cross-functional and multi-cultural team environment.
- Working knowledge of SAP PM, MM, and FI/CO
- Experience with business networks and IT applications
- Experience with the integration, configuration, development, and deployment of SAP-based systems and relevant third-party software
- Experience with SAP Fiori applications, including functional support and/or development
- Experience in project execution using Agile methodology
- Knowledge of port logistics (container/yard management, shipping movements, etc.), EDI, international shipping/documentation, customs, inventory, procurement, plant maintenance, and operations processes in the petrochemical or refinery industry or a port.
- Terminal Operating System experience as a preferred experience.
- Working job knowledge of EDI, BAPI, BADI, and IDOC
- Salary:
- Day Rate in USD Plus Allowance
