It Support Engineer

Townsville based mining organisation seeking a DIDO IT Support Engineer Your new company A leading Townsville based mining organisation with operations in the greater Townsville region are seeking an IT Support Engineer to work on a DIDO (Drive-In, Drive-Out) basis for five rosters! Your new role Your new role will see you work within this small but dedicated multi-disciplinary IT Support Team comprised of IT engineers and field technicians to work on the site's systems and networking infrastructure. Made up of three onsite technical professionals (plus vendors, MSP's, etc), due to one of them taking leave an extra resource is needed to cover their work on site for their rostered swings. The projects and work you will be conducting on will vary to include (but not limited to) Cisco network hardware refreshes, upgrading purpose built on prem data centres, virtualisation maintenance (VMware/vCenter), Windows Server deployments and resolving Windows 10 tickets to name a few. Overall, these projects will see you design, build and maintaining the current and new IT/network infrastructure alongside managing vendors, suppliers and others (project dependent) to meet the goals set out by the companies roadmap and IT leadership. With regards to the successful candidate's background, mining experience would of course be advantageous but due to the breadth of this role we are seeking good all round IT Systems engineers with experience across a range of hardware platforms, the Microsoft Eco system and networking technologies in large enterprise level environments. The working hours (and conditions) for this role are on a DIDO (Drive-In, Drive-Out) basis from Townsville (circa two-hour drive) on four 8:6 rosters (8 days on, 6 days off). Once onsite, all accommodation and meals are paid for and supplied by the organisation. The rosters on offer are as follows:
11/03/2024 - 13/03/2024 (Mon - Wed)
20/03/2024 - 27/03/2024 (Wed - Wed)
03/04/2024 - 10/04/2024 (Wed - Wed)
A further two weeks in May to be decided (2 * Wed - Wed)
What you'll need to succeed You will need experience/knowledge across the following:
The Microsoft eco system - Windows Servers and Desktop OS (such as Windows Server 2019, 2016, 2012 R2, Windows 10, etc), Microsoft 365, SCCM, etc
Configuration of networking/infrastructure platforms (Switches, Routers, Access Points, etc)
Hardware (Desktops, Laptops, Mobile Devices etc) maintenance and deployment/rollouts
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Technical mindset
Working with individuals across all levels of an organisation
Working in the mining/recourses sector a bonus
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Full Australian working rights
