The opportunity
We are looking for an IT Support Engineer to come onboard and provide support to our business.
You will partner with and coach our internal stakeholders and teams to understand our systems and provide technical support. This will include onboarding and offboarding staff, managing our IT assets and providing technical support around our day-to-day business needs. You will providing first, second and third level support by understanding, analysing and resolving support-related requests and incidents.
You will play an important role to improve the end users’ day to day life in relation to the organisations technical services.
What you’ll do
- Run IT induction for new starters and offboarding for staff finishing with the organisation
- Make sure all systems, both internal and hosted, are proactively monitored
- Ensure that monitoring systems are up to date and operational, that proactive alerts are configured
- Provide responsive service and rapid resolution of support queries
- Investigate performance or application issues by diving into logs, or into the application database
- Create documentation for projects related to virtual server, service and network infrastructure
- Proactively recommend improvements and automation
- Ensure production and development systems IT Infrastructure such as Active Directory, Office365, Desktops and laptops are well supported, managed and upgraded as required
- Ensure internal LAN, WLAN and VoIP network is trouble free and secure
- Update documentation to accurately reflect the environment
The ideal candidate
Your highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and your ability to foster and maintain effective relationships will see you succeed in this role. You will have a passion for IT and enjoy problem solving.
You will have a Bachelor's Degree or at least 5 years experience in a similar role and be able to demonstrate:
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot cloud technologies including Microsoft 365 (Sharepoint, Teams, Outlook, Word, Power Point)
- A passion for latest trends and advances in infrastructure and technology
- Experience with databases, networking, inter-connectivity, operating systems, monitoring and automation tools
- Prior experience with desktop support
- Experience with loading and building Desktops, laptops
- Ability to pick up and apply new technologies
- Ability to work with new applications and software (e.g. Salesforce, Castellan, others as required)
- Prior experience with Salesforce or Microsoft (desirable)
