It Support Specialist

• Full time, 6 month fixed term opportunity

• Base Salary $117,116+ 17% superannuation 

About the opportunity

The Faculty of Medicine and Health works closely with multiple Local Health Districts that require specialised IT support.  An IT Support Specialist is a subject matter expert in specific IT systems or applications. They are accountable for providing comprehensive, specialised technology support to clients or business owners. They are also responsible for supporting the enhancement of IT functionality.

This position will require the candidate to be onsite 5 days a week at multiple FMH affiliated Local Health Districts, primarily Westmead Health Precinct and the Northern Health District (Kolling).

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• work with both USYD ICT and LHD ICT to escalate and resolve issues which cannot be resolved through usual channels.
• engage and build strong relationships with stakeholders, facilitating discussion to address concerns and gather feedback, ensuring alignment with work area goals
• provide comprehensive, specialised technology support based on a thorough understanding of the client and business need
• develop procedures and maintain documentation relating to area of IT specialism, ensuring best practices are communicated and implemented
• apply technical expertise and diagnostic skills to assess and resolve complex technical issues, including novel and cross platform issues
• initiate a develop professional relationships with Faculty administrative and academic staff and contribute positively to the team environment

About you

• postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• advanced experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio and comfortable with supporting tools, e.g. Jira, SharePoint
• excellent communication skills including negotiation and influencing skills
• installing and configuring software for enterprise environments and configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting IT/ AV technologies
• analytical and problem solving skills including critical thinking and decision making skills.
