It Systems Administrator

We are on the lookout for an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our team. This role is well-suited to someone with previous experience in a similar role with a demonstrated track record of fostering excellent interpersonal relationships, coupled with outstanding communication and organisational skills. Reporting directly to our General Manager – Operations and working alongside our external IT Contractor, the successful candidate will assist with all of our day to day IT needs. 

This is a part time position working 3 days per week and we are flexible in negotiating which days/hours will be worked for the right candidate. However we need the successful candidate to complete the work during standard business hours with Fridays being the only mandatory day. 

Role Responsibilities include:

• Providing technical support to end users in person and to remote staff via phone/TeamViewer.
• Providing support to users of the company’s ERP systems and liaising with the ERP Systems Administrator to resolve user issues (training will be provided)
• Checking/maintaining backups and schedules.
• Interpreting technical logs and reports.
• Managing Windows workstations & servers in a domain environment.
• On premise Exchange management, maintenance, and patching.
• Linux server administration including writing and maintaining scripts and installing and configuring packages via command line tools.
• Deployment, management and maintenance of all IT and mobile phone hardware
• Deployment and management of Sonicwall firewall appliances including NAT policies, firewall rules, VPN tunnels and other security functions.
• Network printer and photocopier configuration.
• Repairing and troubleshooting Toshiba TEC industrial label printers.
• On premise PBX phone system and handset management.
• Wireless AP management and installation, wireless bridging.
• Writing and testing of IT procedures and processes.
• CCTV DVR and application support. 
• UPS systems monitoring and maintenance. 

Essential Requirements 

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Ability to provide technical support and training to staff with limited IT skillsets. 
• Strong time management and organisational skills, as well as excellent communication skills. Ability to prioritise competing support requirements based on impact to operations.
• Strong Windows server skills (AD, GPO, NTFS Permissions, File & Print Server)
• Experience managing an on-premise Exchange server
• Ability to manage RedHat/CentOS Linux servers using the command line only
• Experience with server virtualisation, preferably VMware ESXi
• Strong TCP/IP networking skills (DHCP, DNS, VPN, routing, firewall rules)
• Testing, diagnosing, and repairing IT hardware.
• Previous experience with web development using Drupal, PHP, JavaScript, Twig, HTML, CSS (Highly Desirable but not essential)
