It Systems Support Officer

Who we are looking for

We are currently looking for an IT Systems Support Officer to join our team based at our Head Office in inner Melbourne, with some occasional travel potentially being required to other sites to meet operational needs. 

Reporting to the National IT Manager, you will be the go-to expert for resolving a wide range of technical issues that our business may encounter.  You have strong Windows OS skills, but also like to do some project work and tackle the odd challenging problem while you’re at it.  Your particular skills in Excel, Power BI and/or Power Automate will set you apart from the pack.  You think on your feet and can juggle a few things at once, all with a smile. 

What your days would look like

Key functions include:

• Provision of general IT support to internal stakeholders across the business nationally
• Ongoing creation and maintenance of documentation for all IT systems.
• Provision of support in use of the Transport Management System (TMS) to staff
• Sourcing, development and/or maintenance of ‘off the shelf’ software applications, tools or systems that enable the business to leverage data to make informed decisions
• Provision of training to individuals or small groups in effective use of systems
• Maintaining IT hardware, patching of systems and monitoring/testing of backups
• Occasional travel to other Austrans locations to assist with projects or to maintain end-user computing equipment
• End to end management of user accounts for multiple IT systems to ensure staff have access to systems as required on a ‘least privilege required’ basis
• General configuration and maintenance of Microsoft Windows, Server and 365 environments

• Great problem solving and time management skills
• Able to contribute in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders; technical writing experience highly valued
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in customer-facing IT support roles
• Highly proficient in Microsoft 365 software with a particular skillset in Excel, Power BI and/or Power Automate highly valued
• Microsoft 365 administration experience is essential
• High level of attention to detail
• Experience in transport and logistics, or a related field, would be advantageous, but is not essential
