About the Role:A Federal Government Agency requires an
ITSM Specialist to assess their current systems and develop a cost-effective business case and project plan to implement ITSM services. The successful applicant will have excellent analytical skills, knowledge of software, and fluency with various computer programs, especially an IT Service Management System, such as CMDB, help desk software or asset management systems. Ideally, the candidate will have a background in IT, data management, and have used business analysis, project management, and operations disciplines.
Responsibilities include:- Leveraging skills and proficiency in the use of software tools like spreadsheets, data modelling tools, and computer-aided design software, to assess the ITSM requirements, the existing systems and integration landscape and identify efficiency and effectiveness gaps.
- Assist in identifying effective tool options and develop a set of processes designed to ensure quality and efficiency of service.
- Identifying the workflow, producing standard operating instructions (tracking, monitoring and auditing) defining the business rules, and identifying security considerations and options to mitigate.
- Assist in establishing a business case and project initiation document for the implementation of an effective ITSM tool.
Required Skills and Experience:- Exceptional experience assessing, planning and implementing ITSM processes, software and tools to optimise IT Service Delivery and reduce costs.
- Skills in evaluating existing IT performance against best practices and identifying optimisation opportunities, along with identifying right fit ITSM services.
- Exceptional track record of defining organisational processes and controls designed to deliver ITSM services to meet business objectives efficiently, effectively, and reliably.
- (Highly Desirable) ITIL practitioner Certification and knowledge of ITIL governance and control processes and procedures.
- (Highly Desirable) Degree in computer science, information technology management or 5 years' experience delivering and managing ITSM systems into Government.
- (Highly Desirable) Working knowledge and experience using basic programming languages like Java, C# and SQL and technologies like cloud computing and DevOps.
