Our client is an established and rapidly growing business operating within the property sector, with strong links to the community throughout Queensland. With the head office in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley, where all of the corporate support functions are based, our client is a close and caring team, who work hard, but maintain work life balance.
The Opportunity
The newly created position of Junior Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the wider finance team, of about 15 people, with overflow from transactional finance and accountants. Initial key responsibilities include;
- Weekly bank and cash reconciliations;
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations;
- Preparing monthly journals;
- Preparing weekly payroll reports; and
- Maintaining relationships with staff across all sites.
Required Experience
This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate who has one year of experience working in a corporate accounts function, and is ready to be exposed to more accounting duties and grow with their next employer. To be successful in this position, candidates will require;
- At least one year demonstrated experience working in an accounts role - payables, receivables, accounts clerk;
- Demonstrated experience using an ERP system - Dynamics365, Pronto, Oracle, Xero;
- Capability to use Excel and eagerness to continue developing these skills; and
- Confident communication skills, written and verbal.
