DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE

We are looking for a suitable candidate to fill the full-time position of Junior Estimator in our Kewdale WA office.
About the Role
You will be responsible for tendering for works, reviewing scope of works, liaising with both internal and external Austin Engineering Customers to meet the requirements of tendering, preparing tender documentation, coordinating our tenders, and maintaining estimating standards. Estimating and tendering could include repair works, new manufacture and R&D projects centered around heavy engineering and mining equipment.

- Prepare all tenders in accordance with the Client Requirements
- Creating detailed quotations in response to customer requests and managing follow up questions and queries
- Creating detailed scopes of work for new jobs
- Analyse drawings, designs, specifications, and tender documentation to prepare schedules, cost estimates, and bid documents
- Liaising with suppliers to achieve best value material purchases
- Following up material supply and communicating delivery updates
- Managing job variations and updating electronic records as required
- Participating in post-job review process
- Be process driven
- Flexible, with a can-do attitude
- Team player, but able to work independently
- This role will require great time management skills
- You will need to be a great communicator both verbal and written
- A keen eye for detail and quality
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS & LICENCES
SKILLS & EXPERTISE
Attributes that will be highly regarded are:
- Experience in similar role (minimum 3 years)
- Trade background
- Heavy mining equipment/bucket experience
- Sound Microsoft Office skills - particularly Excel
- Experience in a similar business
- Experience in the mining sector
