About Us:
Torquay Lawyers are one of three brands under the Brockhill & Usherwood Pty Ltd Group. The group includes insurance broker IndemnityPRO and Brockhill & Usherwood Lawyers.
The Role:
The role will be to provide reception, Legal Assistant, secretarial and paralegal support across legal and insurance. This includes:
- answering phone calls;
- booking appointments;
- assisting with invoicing clients;
- dictation of emails and similar information;
- sending standard emails to clients and third parties;
- liaising with practice manager and bookkeeper;
- opening and closing files;
- sending costs agreements to clients;
- ad-hoc administrative duties;
- assisting with litigation files, filing, preparing standard documents and assisting lawyers and principal.
Key Selection Criteria:
Legal practice experience is preferred and a genuine ability in the following areas is necessary:
- good with customers and on the phone;
- willingness to listen, following instruction and learn;
- positive attitude;
- some experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel (limited use) and similar will be highly regarded;
- ability to touch type or type quickly is helpful for role;
- awareness of Smokeball, Leap or similar software.
Remuneration:
In line with experience and/or legal and clerical administrative employee under Legal Services Award 2020 and based on age. Remuneration will increase based on levels of award and individual growth in role.
