About the opportunity
Due to our firm’s growth, we are looking for a full-time, permanent Junior Legal Assistant based in our Melbourne CBD Office to support a team of lawyers across our practice areas.

Key Responsibilities:
- File management including opening and closing files as well as physical and electronic filing.
- Legal research on discreet legal matters allocated by solicitors (including but not limited to federal taxes, state taxes, property law, litigation, building and construction, family law).
- Assisting solicitors with preparing firm articles on new legal developments.
- Dealing with revenue and tax authorities in relation to debt recovery negotiations and payment arrangements.
- Assisting with preparing responses to revenue authority investigations and audits, including objections, notifications and other correspondence.
- Collation of documents and preparation of documents for litigation matters.
- Assistance with internal and external presentations, including papers for external providers.
- Emails to clients providing fee estimates, request for funds in trust, following up payment of fees.
- Attending to lodgement of filing fees and other matters with courts/tribunals.
- Diary/calendar management
- Answering phone calls and assisting with client enquiries and
- Providing ad hoc general administration duties and assisting to other areas of the business when required.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- 2+ years experience working in a law firm.
- Ability to proactively manage workflow.
- Exceptional organisational skills and ability to work effectively.
- Strong team work capabilities and able to follow clear direction.
- Prioritise tasks and display initiative.
