J Kartsounis & Co is an established suburban firm comprising two solicitors and two paralegals that specialise in Family Law, Conveyances, Commercial work, litigation, Wills and Estates. Due to the small nature of our firm, we can guarantee you will be working closely with solicitors, barristers, clients and courts. We pride ourselves on mentoring young lawyers and guiding them in during the beginning of their legal career. We are looking for a Junior Legal Receptionist/Administrative Assistant with legal knowledge.
Qualifications & experience
- HSC or equivalent.
- Currently enrolled in a law degree (preferable).
- Prior office experience (preferable).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work closely with a small team.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office.
- Strong technological skills.
- High level of literacy.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Answer telephones, schedule appointments, greet clients and provide basic assistance to clients where possible.
- All administrative and clerical duties including managing and ordering office supplies, filing, opening and archiving files, data management, general office management.
- Assisting solicitors with matters as required and providing general support to our solicitors.
- Assisting with the preparation and drafting of legal documents generally.
- Filing documents online via electronic platforms/portals.
- Liaising with clients, other professionals, solicitors, barristers.
- File and document management (knowledge of LEAP Legal Software will be a bonus) oversee and assist with opening and closing files and maintaining safe custody register.
- Emphasis on developing transferable skills to progress to paralegal role and duties.
