Our client, a well respected and long-standing Orthopaedic Practice is actively seeking aJunior Medical Receptionist with the energy and stamina to work within their busy practice. This is a permanent, part time position working Monday, Tuesday and Thursday weekly to support the busy clinic days. It would be suitable for a candidate that has the availability to cover leave as required and there is the potential for increased hours for the right candidate.
The Practice has 3 Orthopaedic Surgeons in the rooms, of which two of the Surgeons consult on both Paediatric and Adult patients. The clinic also sees a lot of trauma patients on top of reviews and new consults. The team also consists of a current Medical Secretary, an Orthopaedic Technician and 2 team members who share the roles of Clinical Nurse and Practice Manager.
This position would be best suited to someone who is quick on their feet and able to adapt during busy situations. Experience using Genie and/or Gentu is essential for success in this role.
Key duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Meet and greet of patients visiting the practice
- Taking all incoming telephone calls and assisting patient with general enquiries
- Preparing and running patient clinics, including patient appointment bookings, data entry of patient details into Genie and Gentu, reviewing upcoming clinics and ensuring all patient records are in order before the day of clinic, appointment reminders, attending to patient emails and handling all telephone enquiries
- Processing of all patient billing/receipting for consultations
In addition to the key duties and responsibilities, Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
- A strong desire to provide a high level of service to the patients of the practice
- immaculate personal presentation
- An exemplary telephone manner and a compassionate demeanour
- Have at least 2 years previous experience in a similar position (ideally coming from another surgical specialist practice)
- Experience within an Orthopaedic practice is highly desirable
- Must be a team player with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate you are proactive with strong time management and organisational skills along with the ability to prioritise your workload efficiently.
- Must be able to multi skill and work under pressure
- High level of competency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, prefer previous experience with Genie and Gentu software (and Eclipse billing desirable)
- A training and induction program will be provided for the right candidate.

Remuneration:
An hourly rate can be negotiated for the right candidate. Onsite, undercover and secure car parking is also provided with this position.
