The Opportunity
As a Junior / Mid-Level Civil Engineer with a passion for the residential civil/structural engineering sector, you will work on projects varying from volume housing to architecturally designed homes and our jobs include site surface drainage and associated civil design, stormwater drainage/civil design for residential projects.
Our Residential Division provides design and documentation for all manner of residential buildings and additions. We provide our services to large project builders, as well as exclusive builders, architects, designers, owner builders and home owners.
Duties of this role will include:
- Produce designs that meet client requirements using a CAD package;
- Ensure that all engineering designs adhere to Australian Standards and Structerre's design philosophy;
- Work with clients and local councils to understand their design requirements;
- Interpret architectural drawings for design considerations;
- Liaise with clients and local councils in-person, via phone and email;
- Liaise with colleagues and other departments as requested;
- Work under the guidance of more experienced/senior engineers.
Who are we looking for?
This position requires an individual who has a strong client focus and a high level of drive & motivation to provide innovative & practical engineering designs that meet client requirements. In addition the successful applicant will have:
- A completed Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering from an institution recognised by Engineers Australia;
- Previous exposure to drainage/civil design in the building industry would be considered advantageous (2-5 years experience).
- A sound understanding of Engineering Principles, Australian Building Codes and Australian Design Standards;
- A strong client focus;
- An ability to use technical engineering/civil software;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Strong attention to detail.
