Background to the role:
We are currently seeking a suitable individual to join our dynamic Food and Nutrition Team at Connell Caldic. Based in our Cheltenham office in Melbourne, this is a full time permanent role with the opportunity to work in hybrid arrangements and have great potential for future growth. You will be given the opportunity to take responsibility for food and nutrition sales and Account Management for B2B companies in Australia. You will be an experienced high performer who is highly dedicated and motivated to efficiently manage our existing business and through creative business development, significantly grow sales for both existing and new customers.
You will also have access to our dedicated FN Applications Technician and state-of-the art laboratory. Our technician will collaborate with you on various customer projects, providing technical expertise – and through innovative and creative means – assist you in securing new business as well as maintaining current clientele. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoys acting as a strategic advisor to key customers. The KAM adds an indispensable value to our customers by demonstrating how we directly contributes to their bottom lines.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and sustaining solid relationships with key customers
- Acting as the main point of contact between key customers and Connell Caldic’s internal resources.
- Able to develop relationships at all levels of customer organization from the CEO to the Purchasing Assistant.
- Developing in-depth understanding of key customers, their objectives and their position in the market and industry
- Using thorough understanding of key customers' needs and requirements to deliver customized solutions that will help them grow their businesses.
- Negotiate contracts with key customers and meet established deadlines for the fulfilment of each customer's long-term goals.
- Addressing and resolving key customers’ complaints.
- Achieve given sales targets.
Candidate attributes required:
- Minimum 5 years in the Food or related industry, with at least 3-5 years or more of sales experience.
- Proven experience in Key Account management in Technical Solution Sales
- Commercial knowhow about pipeline development, pricing (top and bottom line)
- Ability to build rapport with both technical and purchasing at various customers and handle multiple customer accounts.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications as well as CRM software (Dynamics)
- Strong negotiation and leadership skills
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
- Ability to travel as required (including interstate) and have valid drivers’ licence
- An outgoing "can do" personality and flexible, collaborative approach to work
- Bachelor’s degree in business, science or related qualification. Advance Science degree or MBA will be an added advantage.
