Using AFL as the vehicle, you have the exciting opportunity to empower young women in remote communities to participate but also be involved in enhancing the female talent pathway for the Kimberley.

Garnduwa’s Kimberley Spirit Program is the Kimberley region’s recognised football talent pathway for our aspiring footballers. The program also plays a vital role in the development of players’ off field capacity and aims to assist with their holistic development (physical, mental social wellbeing).
About the Role:
The Kimberley Spirit (KS) Program Coordinator is tasked with planning, coordination and implementation of activities within the Kimberley Spirit Program. This role has a special focus on delivering the initiatives within Garnduwa’s Active Leaders Program (ALP). There is an emphasis on female participation in communities across the Kimberley to enhance the Kimberley Spirit female talent pathway.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the annual KS Program, with a special focus on delivering the 'Making Her Mark' initiative to enhance female participation.
- Assist in the coordination of training hubs, camps, carnivals, and trips for participants.
- Work closely with coaches and stakeholders to identify and develop players, fostering their holistic development.
- Help build and maintain the coaching and volunteer network across the Kimberley.
- Assist in identifying new sponsor and grant opportunities to further develop program activities.
- Support the development of content for media platforms related to KS Program activities.
- Maintain accurate records of player participation and program budget.
Requirements:
- Passion for AFL and empowering young women.
- Strong leadership attributes and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to travel to remote Aboriginal communities and regional centres across the Kimberley.
- Experience in program coordination, preferably in community sports or youth development.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Understanding of the Kimberley region and its communities.
