Kitchen Supervisor required for Ipswich Service
Your new company
This non-for-profit business provides meals for the elderly and disabled people in their homes, delivered by volunteers. This Ipswich service currently cooks approx 120 meals a day plus prepares salads, sandwiches and desserts each day. The position of Kitchen Supervisor will commence with a minimum 20 hours per week. The shifts are between Monday to Friday, 5am - 12.30pm.
Your new role
- Conduct and supervise the kitchen operations efficiently and effectively
- Supervise and train kitchen staff and volunteers in their duties
- Prepare all meals in accordance with dietary requirements and ensure meal presentation is of a high standard.
- Undertake menu planning in consultation with the Manager/Management Committee
- Ensure adequate stock is maintained at all times and continually source out suppliers capable of providing the best quality products at a reasonable cost
- Ensure the standard of work carried out by kitchen staff and volunteers is to an agreed level of satisfaction
- Ensure that all employees and kitchen volunteers are appropriately trained in the safe use and maintenance of kitchen equipment, including the emergency evacuation procedure
- Liaise with the Manager/Management Committee on matters affecting the kitchen operations
- Ensure all Food Safety Documents are completed in accordance with the Current Food Safety Standards
- Adhere to all organisational policies, procedures, standards and practices
- Perform any other function as reasonably directed by the Manager/Management Committee
What you'll need to succeed
- Cert IV in Commercial Cookery (or similar) or experience in a similar position
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Double COVID vaccinated
- Drivers' Licence
- Excellent Communication
