Koorie Engagement Support Officer

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly self-motivated Koorie Engagement Support Officer in the Mildura Area, North Western Victorian Region. 

The KESO works as a member of the Mallee Area team and Koorie Education Workforce and is responsible for the implementation of the Marrung Aboriginal Education Plan 2016 - 2026. 

The successful applicant should possess strong leadership skills to ensure the successful delivery of educational support services and advice to schools, kindergartens, families and the Koorie community on strategies aimed at improving participation and educational outcomes for Koorie children and young people. 

To be successful in the role you will need to work in a multidisciplinary team, establish and maintain good working relationships with school staff and early childhood staff, and network effectively with local Aboriginal community, young people and families/carers.

The Koorie Engagement Support Officer is employed by the Department of Education and managed by the Koorie Education Coordinator. 

This role is an identified position and are available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants only. VCAT exemption # A195/2009. Confirmation of the Indigenous status of applicants may be requested. 

This is a full-time, ongoing position and has paid leave during all school holidays.

A current Working with Children Check is required for this position.
