Schedule: A vacancy currently exists for a Laboratory Assistant to perform basic processing duties in our High Volume Department at our Central Laboratory, Murarrie. This role will be required to participate in various shifts between the hours of 06:30 to 02:00 Monday to Sunday. In addition, you may be required to work evening shifts, relief work and perform on call work as determined by the operational requirements of the business.

About the role
We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Routine receipting and processing of specimens
- Pre and post analytical specimen handling
- Identification and prioritisation of urgent specimens
- Filing and storage of specimens
About you
To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
- A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
- Previous laboratory experience and exposure to medical terminology would be desirable, but not essential
- Must be a cohesive and contributing member of the team and display positive attitudes towards achieving outcomes
- Strong time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Attention to detail
- Problem solving skills
- Awareness of Workplace Health and Safety and quality assurance processes and procedures
