About the role

Join the dynamic team in the Specimen Reception Department in Pathology at Box Hill Hospital! This full time, permanent role will see you join the Specimen Reception team, which provides invaluable assistance to the Pathology Department.

The role covers 24/7 (including weekends and public holidays) support to Pathology, covering morning, day, evening, and night shifts. Key duties are specimen receipt and triaging of urgent samples, delivery of samples to the different Pathology departments, referral of samples to other laboratories, and some loading of analysers for stat testing.

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Previous Pathology/Specimen Reception experience is desirable but not essential
• High attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to multitask
• Minimum Year 12 education completed 
• A strong commitment to high quality care
• The ability to work as part of a diverse team
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
