About the role
As MinRes' Onslow Iron Operation begins to ramp up there is an immediate requirement for multiple Laboratory Technicians to join the site based laboratory teams. These will be full time positions working an 8:6/7:7 roster and reporting directly to the Laboratory Supervisor. As a Laboratory Technician you operate and maintain the site assay lab and will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of routine plant and pit samples. This involves sample preparation - collection, sorting, drying, crushing, spitting, and milling of samples. Analysis is via the Zetium XRF using manual sample fusion. Loss on Ignition is via Thermo gravimetric analysis
Other responsilbitlies will include:
- Complete preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Inspect the workplace to identify hazards and assist to implement effective controls
- Accurate and timely reporting of analytical results
- Preform QAQC checks and ensure results are within control limits
- Ensuring you follow MinRes Laboratory procedures & adhere to Health & Safety Standards
- Contribute to daily PSI meetings
What you will bring to the team
- 2 + years working in similar position with in a busy laboratory environment
- MSL40118 Certificate 1V Laboratory Technician (Highly desirable)
- Current WA C Class Drivers Licence
- Ability to work cohesively in close knit team environment
- A strong commitment to commitment to safety
- High attention to detail
- Anility to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines
