We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our Clients R&D team working on renewables projects.
Owners Team level, 3-month contract, Balcatta based at Clients office. Monday to Friday 38 hours per weekA second role for Night Shift work one week a month for next 4-5 months also exists and may later go permanent NSYour responsibilities
- Provide support to scientists, engineers, and fabrications team members working in laboratory.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis and characterisation of samples, raw materials, reagents, and products by using a range of laboratory-based techniques under the guidance of relevant team members.
- Maintain, calibrate, and clean laboratory instruments and manage laboratory supplies including stocks of materials, chemicals, and waste disposal.
- Collect and record data, document all activities, and facilitate progress tracking through use of laboratory data management software.
- Analyse and interpret experimental data to draw key trends and findings, and disseminate those experimental findings to the wider team
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant scientific field (e.g. materials science, applied chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physics, or similar) with research experience
- Previous experience leading a team of Laboratory Technicians and/or managing a laboratory facility
- A background in industrial chemistry, mineral processing, or materials science is preferred
- Experience in analytical methods and characterisation techniques
- Experience handling hazardous materials
