Functional Health Screening (FHS) is a growing functional pathology laboratory. We are currently looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team with an immediate start available.

The role
This is a dual role where by you would be working in the laboratory as a lab technician and also assisting our dispensary team.
The Laboratory staff are primarily responsible for sample testing, instrument operation, specimen reception, data entry, general laboratory cleaning & maintenance, reporting & reviewing results, as well as the opportunity to be involved with laboratory-based research.
The dispensary team pack orders and post them out to customers. They are also responsible for some of the laboratory administration.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Experience in a laboratory setting.
- High-level organisation skills and the ability to take responsibility and manage tasks independently without close supervision.
- Experience in a support role where you have been responsible for prioritising and completing a busy workload to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills together with the ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
- High level of knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite/Google Docs.
- Strong customer service skills with a focused and responsive approach to managing enquiries.
- Assist with the implementation of skills and training in new and routine techniques.
- Ability to answer advanced level science/laboratory questions and queries
- Ability to answer Advanced level clinical-science questions and queries
- Respond to escalated complaints and troubleshoot issues
- Working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Promote and manage laboratory best practice
IC-MS and method development, Roche equipment and performance of manual and semi-automatic ELISA experience highly regarded
Minimum qualification - Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution with subjects relevant to medical science, pathology or medical laboratory operations.
