ABOUT THE ROLE:
Step into the dynamic world of waste management by joining Bass Coast Council’s Waste Services team in the pivotal role of Landfill and Site Operator.
This role, offering two part-time positions, presents an exciting opportunity to operate plant equipment at the Grantville Landfill and support operations at the Transfer Station. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of tasks aimed at efficiently managing solid waste disposal, aiding in compaction, and facilitating material handling for resource recovery in a manner that prioritizes safety and environmental responsibility.
The Waste Services team plays a vital role in serving the Bass Coast community, contributing actively to sustainable development efforts, environmental protection, and the realisation of Council’s ambitious Climate Emergency Action Plan aimed at achieving zero net emissions over the next decade.

TO BE A SUCCESS:
- Prior experience in the day-to-day operations of landfills and transfer facilities is preferred.
- Proficiency in maintaining records and daily log sheets is required.
- A strong commitment to teamwork and exceptional customer service is paramount.
- Adherence to workplace health and safety protocols is non-negotiable.
- Undertake manual handling tasks as directed.
- Possession of a current Heavy Rigid truck & operating mobile plant (excavator, front-end loader) verification of competency.
- Hold a white card.
