Due to our continued growth, the firm is seeking to appoint an additional lawyer with 1-5 years’ experience specialising in employment law.
About the role
You will report directly to, as well as work alongside, a highly experienced Principal and Senior Associate, being exposed to and obtaining ‘hands on’ experience in all aspects of workplace law. Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):-
Assisting and advising in key matters including termination of employment, discrimination, bullying, sexual harassment, work health and safety, amongst others
Representing clients in litigation proceedings relating to matters ranging from post employment restraints, general protections, unfair dismissal, underpaid wage claims amongst others
Representing clients in disputes with regulators in relation to issues such as underpaid wage claims through to work health and safety investigations and incidents
Providing advice and updates in industrial developments at the federal and State level, as they occur (including in relation to Respect@Work and other anticipated reforms)
Participating in conciliation and/or mediation conferences
Contributing to and participating in team development

About you
You will have approximately 1-5 years’ experience in an employment/workplace relations practice, are passionate about workplace relations and you are looking for your next challenge. As our new Lawyer, you will be dedicated to helping our clients meet their objectives to develop practical and innovative solutions. You will need to be conscientious, have the highest standards of professional conduct and want to continuously improve on everything you do. A strong attention to detail, excellent analytical and drafting skills, a critical and inquisitive mind, and strong communication skills are highly valued.
