Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lawyer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and representation to clients in various industries. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the law and be able to provide sound legal advice to clients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and representation to clients in various industries
- Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure that clients are informed of their legal rights and obligations
- Draft legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and pleadings
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and arbitrations
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
- Advise clients on legal issues related to their business operations
- Keep up-to-date with changes in the law and advise clients accordingly
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
Skill set: The services provided by Madison Marcus in relation to Employment Law include:
• Employment Law (all aspects);
• Industrial Relations (ER matters);
• Human Rights, Anti-discrimination and Equal Opportunity;
• Change Management;
• Terminations;
• Restraint of trade disputes for employers/employees;
• Misuse of confidential information;
• Workplace Investigations, workplace disputes, mediations and training – Investigations into unions in relation to compliance with awards;
• Award Interpretation and application;
• Legislative interpretation and clarification;
• Workplace Health and Safety investigations;
• Occupational Health and Safety Investigations;
• Contract Development, review – Employment and contractor agreements;
• Advising on Enterprise Bargaining Agreements;
• Policy and procedures advice relating to emails, internet usage, sexual harassment, termination for misconduct and other matters;
• Risk Managements and compliance registers;
• Best practice on crisis management; and
• Sports Sector Employment Law.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Laws and current practising certificate
- Minimum of 4 years of experience practicing in Employment Law
- Strong understanding of the law and legal procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
