Due to continued strong growth and the award of new projects supporting important retailers, our small team is looking for a Design manager to coordinate and manage design briefs.
This role is an opportunity that will see you managing and controlling the allocated design process with designers and a product director. You will be overseeing new brief generation, timelines and design documentation accuracy and management of the maintenance of drawing standards. The position will also involve creating design documentation in Solidworks.
Key accountabilities for the position will be:
- Coordinate the retail fixture/interior design activities of the company and ensure that all designs are completed on time.
- Ensure that all design work is completed in accordance with appropriate specifications and standards.
- Liaise with the project team, including engineers, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure that all design requirements are met.
- Assist with offshore production documentation
- Ensure that all design changes are properly documented, managed and maintained as well as communicated to the relevant parties.
- Review design drawings and specifications to ensure that they are accurate and complete.
- Create products and documentation as part of the design team
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on design activities.
About You:
We are looking for a leader to work together with senior management to execute important design briefs relating to bother retail fixtures and retail projects.
A fast thinking and practical personality to deliver time sensitive output is key to a successful applicant.
To be Successful:
- Industrial design, Design Engineering degree or relevant Tertiary education and experience with Solidworks
- Ideally experienced with design management
- Ideally have retail fixture experience or joinery/cabinetry experience
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others and under pressure
- Experience in coordinating design activities in infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of design principles and techniques.
