The Delivery Management section is the Project Management Office (PMO) for the division and is responsible for end-to-end ICT project delivery with full oversight of the divisions program of work. Our project portfolio includes a range of ICT projects including networks, infrastructure, applications and more. We follow an Agile delivery approach in most cases, or a hybrid methodology where more appropriate.
We are looking for a Lead Delivery Manager with a minimum of 5 years in a senior Program Management role, with demonstrated experience managing multiple ICT Projects with critical delivery dates. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with many priorities. They must also have demonstrated skills mitigating risks and resolving conflict.
Our Delivery Managers are responsible for all aspects of project management including project governance, budgets, scope management, resource management, sourcing, contract management, stakeholder relationship management, performance management, risk mitigation and reporting. This position will play a key role in leading the technical teams to deliver exceptionable products that are fit for purpose and meet customer and business expectations.
In addition to leading specific projects, the Lead Delivery Manager will be responsible for uplifting skills of the current Delivery Management team, mentoring less experienced team members and implementing standard ways of working. They will lead the Delivery Management Centre of Excellence (COE) where they will collaborate with other Delivery Managers in the team to identify best practices and work to standardise project management practices, processes and artefacts used by the team to enhance project delivery efficiency and consistency across the division.

The Lead Delivery manager will:
- Lead the Delivery Management Centre of Excellence (COE) where they will collaborate with other Delivery Managers to standardise and mature the delivery management practices
- Manage multiple complex ICT projects/Programs to deliver agreed outcomes within defined budgets and timeframes to the satisfaction of the Customer and Project Sponsor
- Ensure that effective project monitoring and control processes, change control, risk management and quality processes are employed and maintained.
- Establish formal contracts following government procurement guidelines for the supply of products or services in accordance with procurement guidelines and effectively manage these contracts to ensure vendors fulfil contractual obligations
- Ensure projects are carried out in accordance with agreed architectures, standards, methods and tools and addresses security and privacy requirements.
- Build long-term, strategic relationships with senior stakeholders (internal and external) and facilitates the engagement of stakeholders in support of the delivery of services and change projects
- Develops strategic road maps to communicate future project initiatives
Qualifications and experience:
- 5 years in a Senior Program Manager role with experience delivering ICT projects using formal project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 and PMBOK
- Tertiary qualifications in Project management (desirable)
- Agile certifications such as Professional Scrum Master, SAFe, AgilePM (desirable)
Please note: Salaries in the department are provided through its Enterprise Agreement. Additional remuneration may also be provided through Individual Flexibility Arrangements (IFA). These IFAs can be negotiated prior to commencement.
