The opportunity
CR Powered by Epiroc, is a global supplier of industry-leading solutions to the mining sector. We engineer the most advanced physical and digital solutions for the world's best miners to unlock productivity, enhance safety, and reduce maintenance requirements. As a Lead Electronics Engineer you will be a key member of our team, driving innovation in IoT, embedded software, and firmware while managing multiple projects with diverse teams. You'll play a crucial role in setting a structured approach to product development, working with edge computing, IoT technologies, perception sensors, RF sensors, and more. You will be no stranger to manufacturing, firmware development, compliance requirements and technical documentation, QA processes, version release and product support escalation. If you're passionate about being a team leader of a small but dynamic team, we want you on board! This is a hybrid role, based at our CR Digital Head Office in Goodna, Brisbane.
About you
We are looking for a candidate who is degree qualified in Electronics Engineering and has experience in a similar role, ideally within the mining industry or in harsh environments such as agriculture, earthmoving, oil and gas, or defence. Ideally you will have expertise in Altium design software, GPS systems, and electronics hardware. Further experience in PCB design, firmware level and system/enclosure/cabling level as well as transferring electronics designs to outsourced manufacturing will be highly regarded. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication abilities, a customer service focus, and a growth learning mindset. Team leadership experience is also required, as you will be expected to support fellow hardware engineers with technical expertise and guidance.
