Lead Planner & Scheduler - ERA
Influence project-based teams and drive change in a Landmark Rehabilitation Project
The role is based in Brisbane, with occasional travel required to site in Jabiru, NT.

About the role
We are looking for a Lead Planner & Scheduler to manage and forecast schedule activities for the Ranger Rehabilitation Project and any other ERA business segments, including operations, Jabiru works, tranche execution, studies, and integrated Primavera (P6) schedules.
You will also be required to support the Project Controls Manager & senior leadership and their direct reports with production level planning, productivity & progress to identify critical onsite activities and project sensitivities to keep delivery teams focused on effective planning and risk mitigation aspects of the schedule improving performance. The Senior Planner Scheduler will be the single point of contact owner of all schedules within ERA project and study scope areas. Reporting to the ERA Manager Project Controls, you will be:
Single point of schedule data control and reporting for the project.
Project planning and effectively managing the project planning personnel.
Fostering continued training and development
Support various schedules from operations, shutdown, Jabiru scope, Project execution scope, studies, and full integrated schedule for the life of the project.
Provide Project Schedules, Status Reporting and Analysis.
Continually develop processes and systems to improve efficiency and quality of Project Planning deliverables.
Will be the owner position with site progress, Primavera (P6) system update, SAP cost interface, project schedule trends and reporting outputs.
Support supply chain with schedule and commitment tracking, including review and assistance with schedule durations for contracts/materials.
Support data (forecast) to ERA Cost and ERA finance for funding requests/updates.
Maintain the correct WBS/SAP coding and commitment as the basis for schedule durations being linked to cost budgeting and forecasting.
Identify and reflect changes in schedule in all reporting and aligned to project schedule.
Review scope changes and trends, aligned with control budget transfers or contingency drawdown.
Manage the monitoring and forecasting of costs (contractors and in-house) highlight issues/changes and recommend remedial action.
Evaluate alternative project options to identify optimum project strategies or resolve problems prior to and during execution.
Consult with schedule managers and package owners to communicate performance against baselines, milestones, and update of forecast.
Consult with and provide management and staff with visibility of schedule trends.
Report progress, trends, variations, and efficiency.
Continuous development of processes & systems to improve the efficiency & quality of Project Controls deliverables within the project.
Ensure that all aspects of project scope are adequately incorporated into Project Planning and reporting, including major sub-contracts and purchase orders.
Responsible for ensuring planning documents are prepared accurately and expeditiously.
Initiate development of project plans at required levels and ensure consistency of planning levels, logic, and reporting.
Participate in management meetings and provide inputs/recommendations for timely completion of the project.
Provide ad-hoc plans, reports and projections as required by project management.
Consult with other departments and projects to identify and resolve schedule and/or resource conflicts.
Mentor & guide Project Planning personnel
What you will bring
Experience in a similar role at a senior level for 15+ years.
Have experience establishing and maintaining integrated Primavera P6 system.
Able to develop/confirm schedules for contracts.
Able to effectively communicate at all levels of project team from construction contractor, package owners, budget managers and Executive Committee (EXCO).
Familiar with developing a WBS and schedule coding as the basis for duration progress and forecasting.
Full ownership of reporting earned value and project progress measure.
Support main works contractor and major procurement vendors in schedule updates to maintain milestone and progress against project baselines.
Able to allocate schedule and consult with the project team.
Able to identify and reflect changes in costs in all cost reports and project schedule.
Experience in reviewing scope changes and Trends
Experience in establishing monthly accruals for work in progress (value of work earned) and consult with ERA cost team and ERA accounting.
Experience in managing the monitoring and forecasting (contractors and in-house) highlight problems and recommend remedial action.
Be able to evaluate alternative project options to identify optimum project strategies or resolve problems prior to and during execution.
Be able to report progress, trends, variations, and efficiency.
The person shall understand and demonstrate the ability to work in a team and understand the need to provide a professional and prompt service to all stakeholders.
Able to assess and implement processes and governance.
Have experience in schedule management systems.
Team player and accept responsibilities under a lean organisation.

Lead the planning/schedule function priorities and set timelines.

Energy Resources of Australia Ltd (ERA) is a publicly listed company with Rio Tinto its major shareholder. ERA has mined and produced uranium oxide from its Ranger mine in the beautiful and rugged Alligator Rivers area of the Northern Territory since 1980. The Ranger mine is located on Aboriginal land, and is surrounded by, but separate from Kakadu National Park.
Mining at Ranger ceased in November 2012 and since then, Ranger has been processing ore from stockpiles.
The role is based in Brisbane, with occasional travel required to site in Jabiru, NT.
