Job Summary:
ILM Sydney is seeking a Lead Production Manager to join the team and be a part of this exciting opportunity as we continue to expand our Sydney capability.
The goal of the Lead Production Manager is to support and develop the production team through furthering a trusting, open and supportive environment that encourages continuous improvement.
You will partner with the Director of Production and Production Talent Manager to ensure the production team is supported and performant. . The Lead Production Manager is not assigned to a show themselves but as we are a busy studio, at times the role may involve stepping onto projects, if needed, for short durations.

What will you be doing?
Partner with the Sydney Director of Production, Executive Producers and Producers in furthering the trusting, open and supportive environment for the production team.
Develop a framework that encourages a culture of shared purpose and collaborative problem solving.
Aggregate and diagnose findings from surveys, think tanks and feedback sessions.
Design, plan and implement production initiatives to reduce operational friction and further enhance the production working experience.
Contribute to and update latest ILM production best practices and tools globally. Provides dedicated support to the local production team on production methodology.
Form a close working relationship with the Workflow Production Manager to roll out global production processes, in line with all studios.
Support in impact areas such as production casting and recruitment
Mentor production team members who need support in specific areas in addition to their show production team.
Perform the role of a Production Manager on shows for short durations, as required.
To be a contributing member of this team, you will have a mix of these skills:
Ideally, 5 years experience in production to include strong working knowledge of Visual Effects techniques and terminology.
Evidence of successful production team leadership
Proficiency in Macs/PCs, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of UNIX. And familiarity with Google Suite is favorable.
Strong scheduling experience required.
Must possess very strong organizational and communication skills and be able to handle a variety of tasks in an efficient manner while meeting deadlines.
Able to plan and oversee projects from the initial ideation through to completion.
Worked with a variety of stakeholders, ranging in seniority. You will have experience in building strong working relationships, training and mentorship skills.
Strong influencing and partnership skills and a positive outlook
Genuine interest in people management, and an ability to teach and inspire
Able to quickly establish credibility and respect and build strong working relationships with a production department. Demonstrable maturity, professionalism and gravitas.
Works with others in a collaborative and solutions focused manner to achieve win-win outcomes
Excellent attention to detail - this is an operational role as much as a people one!
Ability to recognise the value and responsibility of working in a team, actively assists and develops team members, quick to identify and problem solve any issues
