About the role
We are currently searching for a Lead - Risk Management for a 12-month contract position. This exciting and very rare opportunity will partner with Orica's global regions and business functions to facilitate change; driving accountability and delivery of the Group Risk Strategy and enterprise-wide Risk Management program.
In this highly visible and critical role, you will be responsible for supporting the Group Risk team regarding all aspects of the enterprise-wide Risk Management program. This includes facilitating the identification of risks throughout the organisation, developing, reporting and monitoring progress on Risk Management issues and developing methodologies for the assessment of risks throughout the organization

What you will be doing
- Support implementation of enterprise governance frameworks, standards and practices relating to risk governance and effectively implement them throughout Orica;
- Implement processes to assess and/or monitor the effectiveness of risk governance frameworks and adherence to standards as appropriate;
- Act as an internal subject matter expert and develop organization capability around Risk Management and decision processes aligned with Orica's operating model and risk strategy;
- Work collaboratively with other functions to identify and implement consistent and effective approaches to risk governance and control-based activities;
- Maintain strong and effective working relationships with all areas of Risk Management - particularly SHES, Ethics & Compliance, Internal Audit and Regions;
- Support the collation and development of Executive, Board and Audit and Risk Committee reporting
What you will bring
- Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, economics, finance or equivalent.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, science or equivalent also highly regarded.
- Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
- Experience (c.5 years) in or working with large, global businesses on assurance or risk matters will be highly regarded.
- Proven structured problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to present strategic logic and recommended pathways, coupled with the ability to present to senior key stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen supported by sound commercial judgement.
- Must be familiar and proficient with ISO 31000 Risk Management Standard
