About the Role

We are looking for an experienced psychologist to join a team whose key focus is delivering high quality education and supporting the psychological profession. The APS encourages a diverse workforce and is seeking a professional who wants to make a difference.

The role is permanent part-time (FTE0.6 - three days a week) and would suit a candidate looking to scale back from professional practice, returning to the workforce from parental leave, looking for more flexibility with work days, or someone simply looking for their next career move. The successful candidate will be an experienced psychologist who will take responsibility for the development and ongoing quality assurance of the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) approved Supervisor Training Program

The Lead Training Coordinator will have oversight of the Supervisor Training Program, manage approved trainers to coordinate the delivery of training and assessment processes nationwide. This critical role will also provide advice, guidance and operational support to the Head of Education and Training in all aspects of the Supervisor Training Program, including processes involved with assessment, course content review, development and implementation.

We work in a hybrid model. Most team members currently work from home, with the option to work in our modern Melbourne CBD office when it suits or as the business requires (i.e.. for large planning meetings) with no mandated office days.

We have staff in most states and territories, and you don’t necessarily need to be Melbourne-based to be successful in this role.

We are looking for a motivated and passionate individual to recruit.

Key Selection criteria includes:

  • Approved Supervisor registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and have held their registration for at least 5 years
  • A postgraduate Degree in Psychology and at least five years subsequent work experience in principal supervisor roles;
  • Experience in professional psychology training roles;
  • A comprehensive knowledge of Psychology Board of Australia requirements and full knowledge of the requirements of Supervisor Training parts 1 through to 4;
  • Experienced practitioner psychologist with a demonstrated depth and breadth of knowledge of psychology practice and professional issues;
  • Demonstrable leadership skills to manage a group of trainers;
  • Ability to provide advice and work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to implement effective quality assurance processes and procedures;
  • Strong project management experience
  • Able to thrive in a team based environment.
