Our highly motivated company is looking for a full-time Leading Hand for upcoming and current projects in the Defence and Commercial Marine Industry. Preferred experience within the Ship Building/Ship Refit industry with a Welding/Boilermaker background.
Griffin Marine Services Pty Ltd works with over 40 clients across the nation, including prime Defence contractors such as UGL, BAE, Thales, MCDSPO, and Naval Ship Management (NSM). Our commercial interests are also wide and varied with work carried out on many ships including Mediterranean Shipping Company crafts and commercial vessels nationally and internationally as well as industrial works. We are also committed to the continuous development and training of our personnel to maintain a safe and rewarding work environment. Griffin Marine Services currently employs approximately 120 staff nationally and is growing rapidly.
Griffin Marine is currently seeking a Leading Hand to join our fast-growing team in Darwin NT, and surrounding areas. We are offering Permanent roles with excellent rates.

What do we need from you?
Australian Fabrication or Welding Trade qualification or equivalent (Or minimum 5 years of proven experience)
The ability to interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
Competence with FCAW, MMAW, MIG and TIG welding (Aluminium and Mild steel)
Marine fitting experience is highly desirable
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to manage teams and work well with small crews
Pro-active forward thinker
Flexible, able to work weekends when required
A strong commitment to health and safety
Ability to work well in a team environment
