Full Time - Temporary Contract
The Learning and Development (L&D) Officer will assist with the implementing, monitoring and ongoing development of the Mallee District Aboriginal Services (MDAS) L&D strategy.
The L&D Officer will be responsible for administrative functions in relation to training packages and courses for staff, as well as internal and external training. The L&D Officer will work closely with the L&D Manager and L&D Coordinator to develop and co-facilitate internal training sessions, ensuring these are culturally appropriate and providing an Aboriginal presence and cultural lens.
The L&D Officer will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of a capability framework to enhance the capacity of the organisation to deliver services to clients. The L&D Officer will be supported to assist in implementing a range of educational functions and processes required to maintain staff engagement.

Project Management: Develop, implement and monitor systems to achieve the L&D goals and objectives and monitor own performance and compliance within the requirements of the framework. Demonstrate strong analytical, organisational and time management skills.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to coordinate work effectively with external bodies and internal staff from all levels of the organisation. Understand cultural sensitivities. Communicate Aboriginal perspectives through L&D lens to staff and internal training.
Organising and Planning: Strong organisational and coordination skills. Administrative skills, with effectiveness in completing tasks to a high standard within set timeframes. Ability to manage multiple priorities at a time.
Problem Solving: Solve problems based on knowledge and experience, scanning for useful information, looking for underlying cause and suggesting alternative action.
Respect Cultural Diversity: Take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services.
Tertiary qualification and or experience in a relevant field (experience with RTO training packages is desirable but not required and co-facilitating training).

A current Driver’s License that allows you to drive in Australia.
A current Employee Working with Children Check card.
A current National Police Check.
