Melbourne Grammar School is seeking a vibrant and professional Learning Assistant to join our team at Melbourne Grammar School.
The Learning Assistant will work with individual students or groups of students to ensure they are able to access the School’s relevant curriculum. It is essential that the incumbent demonstrates a caring attitude and sense of awareness towards the individual needs of young students with learning difficulties. The Learning Assistant must thrive on working as part of a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to achieving the vision of Melbourne Grammar School. The Learning Assistant will promote a warm, positive and nurturing environment while supporting students with their learning.
This position is a full-time fixed term (term time) position for the 2024 academic year.

Our Middle School, Wadhurst, is Melbourne Grammar School’s purpose-built middle school learning community for boys in Years 7 and 8. Wadhurst specialises in educating 12-to-14-year old’s by addressing the transition from childhood to adolescence. The School is located at our South Yarra campus and is attended by approximately 350 boarders and day boys.
You will
- Build and maintain a positive working relationship with the designated students.
- Teach Intervention Programs as assigned and record session notes.
- Liaise with Learning Strategies staff and Classroom Teachers to ensure students are given every opportunity to achieve success.
- Assist the students with some personal care needs as required and support the students with social development.
- Ensure the students have access to the curriculum to the best of their ability.
- Refer all parental concerns and requests to the class teacher for decisions.
